Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question? We have answers! Our FAQ contains some of the most common questions about Gladius.

What is Gladius?

Gladius is a software company dedicated to ending DDoS attacks. The Gladius DDoS software platform aggregates massive amounts of unused bandwidth from corporations and individuals, making that bandwidth instantly available to any participating company to easily, inexpensively, and effectively defend against inbound DDoS attacks. We knew that the traditional way of fighting DDOS was dated and often didn’t work. We are leveling the playing field by creating a distributed solution to address a distributed problem.

Why is Gladius needed?

We believe Gladius fills a crucial gap in the current CDN and DDoS market.

Currently, web application owners are left with several bad options. One is to use a standard cloud service. While these services are good, they are expensive and limited to their infrastructure. Even basic features can be expensive for most website owners.

Another is to build a CDN on their own infrastructure. These setups are complicated, expensive, and static -- so the content can only live where these devices live. Moving closer to your customer can be expensive and difficult.

And an even worse option is to forgo any CDN or DDoS protection altogether. This unfortunately is the default for many organizations today.

Who can use Gladius?

Gladius software enables customers of all kinds, from large enterprises to small businesses with small web footprints, to benefit from advanced CDN technology AND get WAF and DDoS protection without breaking the budget. Also, the software is highly customizable and can live anywhere.

If you’re a website/web app owner, you can use Gladius to protect and accelerate your site’s content delivery. If you’re technically savvy, you can create your own Protection Pool and become part of our marketplace. If you’re a novice with a computer and internet connection you can sell us your spare bandwidth.
